Estimated multiplier
Estimates use combinatorial probability for revealing safe tiles in a row, then apply a small house edge. They are for understanding the relationship only.
What drives the multiplier
The core idea is probability. With more mines on the board, each safe pick is less likely, so a run of safe tiles becomes rarer — and the multiplier grows to match that rarity. A house edge is then applied, which is why the payout is slightly below a perfectly “fair” return.
So two things push the number up: more mines, and more safe tiles revealed. Both also reduce your chance of getting there. That is the trade-off the strategy page is built around.
